Fair
Schedule 2008
May
4 Craft Fair and Table Setup - This was my second craft
fair and my
sister and hubby lended a hand. It allowed me to practice preparation
before the show, transport, setup, and breakdown. I was pooped after
the show. Unfortunately,
there was not a lot of traffic, so my expections for a busy show were
not realized. We did make a respectable amount, met a lot of nice
people, and received many good comments about my work.

Evolution of Wedding Couple
Design - I had such a struggle with the Bride design. The groom
was a sinch! Designs 1 and 2 are basically the same, except pink was
added to Design 2. I scrapped Designs 1 & 2 because
they did
not look like a bride to me, but more like a princess and no
one
could tell where the veil was. The beauty of painting on rocks is that
you can soak them in hot water and peel or scrub off your paint to
start again. This is what I did. Felt like I was
drowning the
bride! Design 3 was the final outcome. You can clearly see the veil now
placed on the face area vs. the body. The dress is supposed to look
form fitting with lace details on the sides representing the bottom
portion of the gown. A scalloped trim is present on the underside of
the rock. This bride is wearing a gold/pearl necklace and has pink
roses sewn onto waist area. The REAL bride for whom this rock
was
made wanted pinks and ivory instead of the traditional white.

Raffle Prize Donation
- This
is the Irish Garden Bug Rock I made and donated as a raffle prize for
the Holy Cross School
annual Irish Night on Saturday, March 3,
2007. He is large at 1 foot long and weighs 6 lbs. This design
is
so
popular and is perfect for a welcome at your front door, a fireplace
buddy, or as a garden decoration.
