JUNE 2008 - Welcome to the latest edition of SuzyBugTM e-News!
Hello All! Summer is here and it is the season where I reconnect with
my hobby and begin painting in earnest, putting new ideas to stone, and
getting ready for the holiday craft fair season. I have a new group of
Japenese Kanji Inspired stones with new symbols. The base coat is done
and they are waiting for the painting to start!
I have a special return of a rock I painted last year with an Irish
theme for a waitress at a local Irish named restaurant. This rock has a
coveted place right at the register where everyone pays before leaving.
Well, so many people touched it out of curiousity that it became very
dirty. I gave the rock a light scrubbing with a nail brush and
what a difference, but it still needs some brightening so it can go
back into duty ready to receive a lot more lovin'!
I will share pictures in my next newsletter of the transformation and the progress on my Kanji stones. Take care.
Until next time....Missy
Japanese
Kanji Inspirational Series
- Stones with just an inspirational word or asian symbol are beautiful
in their simplicity, so I paired the two together on a bright white
background for those like me who love the elegant style of Japanese
Kanji but also want to know the meaning and share with others. I know I
will be doing more of these.

Family
Name Rock
My first online order through my website! I
received a call from Melissa in Illinois who wanted this large stone as
a housewarming gift. Hibiscus flowers look so good as a border for the
script stlyle name.

Grandchildren
Rocks
My second online order from Carol in New
Jersey. She will be placing them at her mother's gravesite. I thought
it was a great idea and they are so colorful as a group.

Address Rock
My hubby and I stole this rock
from friends who had it on the corner of their property with a
generic stenciled number only. While they were away, we painted,
sealed, and got it back as a surprise and they loved it. So
do
we!

Pirate Skull
Rock
"Bad to the Bone" - While I was painting my
Skull Bug Rocks, I decided to do a non-buggy version with this crazy
and menacing pirate skull complete with yellow teeth and one gold
tooth.
